What about quality?
Home Affections, together with our partner suppliers and manufacture, put quality at top of the list of our priorities, starting at the FSC forests in Northern Scandinavia where Pine is selected for our factory. Trees from this region grow slowly under difficult climatic conditions which results in strong trees ideally suited for our solid Pine ranges of furniture. The Factory personally double check timber at source so that the best material is only brought to the factories, from there everything is made and packed in house.
Our designers work on every detail making sure every item is fit for purpose. Several checks are made through production, ensuring the end product is second to none, even the simple to follow assembly instructions are drawn and produced in house, again tried and tested by our own staff.
For products produced in the stained finish, we only use environment-friendly materials; with UV or water-based varnish, paint, and stains.

What are the products made of?
Most flat-packed products are made out of melamine. Melamine is a very durable material but is also lightweight and generally costs less than other furniture materials. It can withstand high temperatures, giving it an advantage over wood and other materials such as foil and paper finished board where hot items and spilled liquids are concerned. Melamine is a hard, durable material and does not chip or scratch easily.

Care of melamine furniture
To clean the surfaces on melamine furniture, wash with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Mild dish detergent and warm water will also clean melamine. Rinse with clear water and dry the surface with a fresh soft cloth or paper towels.

Production of melamine furniture
Many of our collection is made of high-quality laminated board, which is characterized by resistance to damage, scratching, high temperatures and humidity. This feature combined with the use of modern technology certified materials and accessories, and tight quality control systems means that the furniture is extremely durable and retains its elegant look for many years.

Environmentally appropriate?
Environmentally appropriate forest management ensures that the harvest of timber and non-timber products maintains the forest's biodiversity, productivity, and ecological processes.

Socially Beneficial?
Socially beneficial forest management helps both local people and society at large to enjoy long term benefits and also provides strong incentives to local people to sustain the forest resources and adhere to long-term management plans.

Economically Viable?
Economically viable forest management means that forest operations are structured and managed so as to be sufficiently profitable, without generating financial profit at the expense of the forest resource, the ecosystem, or affected communities. The tension between the need to generate adequate financial returns and the principles of responsible forest operations can be reduced through efforts to market the full range of forest products and services for their best value.
